17/01/2024 Facebook post by resident – Fallen tree branch

Sarah Marshal, a resident opposite the Tulliallan Avenue of Elms reported in the neighbourhood Facebook that a huge tree branch had fallen off and provided some pictures. JR from Friends of the Tulliallan Elms visited the site and took additional pictures. He noted that one branch fall off and knocked off another branch from the adjacent tree and therefore there were two branches. It is not clear why the branch broke off. He contacted the responsible department in Casey Council and made a request for the branches to be removed as well as for the Council arborist to come down to take a look. Meanwhile Alexis Michael, another resident at the neighbourhood also contacted the Council parallelly. Big thanks and deep appreciation to both Sarah and Alexis for their proactive involvement and support.

09/11/2023 Update on mowing contracts:
JR from the Friends of the Tulliallan Elms contacted the Council updating them about the upcoming community event “Christmas Under the Elms 2023” on 23rd Nov and also about the maintenance works. Council offered the following response and also arranged for the Council’s arborist to visit the site and these was followed by comprehensive conservation and maintenance works over the next few days.
“Each year springtime brings some warmer weather and often an increase in rainfall, creating ideal conditions for plant and grass growth. In response to last year’s mowing performance, The City of Casey conducted a thorough review of the existing mowing service model. Our commitment is to provide an improved service to our community. In line with this commitment, we are pleased to note that we have awarded seven new mowing contracts, which represents an increase of five new contracts. This expansion will help us deliver a more effective mowing service for our community, particularly for those who enjoy our parks and reserves. The new contractors will commence their mowing services on November 13, 2023. During the transition to the new service model over the next month, we will make every effort to address long grass at existing sites.
