Introduction

  • A few members of the Tulliallan community felt that a holistic approach for the preservation of the Elm trees was needed. And that this could be only possible with the joint efforts of both the Casey Town Council and the residents living around the Elms.
  • Thus a volunteer group called “Friends of the Tulliallan Elms” was formed in July 2018 and was officially registered as an incorporated association with the Consumer Affairs of Victoria on 12th Dec 2018 (No. A0104983D). Click here to see the registration certificate.

Purpose of “Friends of the Tulliallan Elms”

  • The Friends of the Tulliallan Elms is a group of neighbourhood volunteers whose main goal is to promote interest, support and involvement in the preservation, care and maintenance of the heritage-listed avenue of Elms trees in the Tulliallan estate.
  • We advocate to build and maintain respect for the aesthetic, ecological and horticultural value of the Elms trees for the benefit of every resident in the neighbourhood.
  • We research, assess and communicate timely information for the care and preservation of the Elm trees in concert with our Town Council and our residents’ interests.
  • We join with the Town Council and other related government departments, together with proactive residents and community and environmental groups to coordinate the planning and initiatives designed to maintain and preserve the value of the Elm trees for our neighbourhood.
